Southport Art Fest Returns to Lakeview This Summer With More Than 100 Artists

One of Lakeview’s most popular summer traditions is returning to the Southport Corridor this July as the Southport Art Fest brings artists, live music, food vendors, and thousands of visitors back to the neighborhood.

The two-day outdoor festival, produced by Amdur Productions, will take place July 11–12 along Southport Avenue between Waveland and Byron. The event is free and open to the public.

More than 100 artists from across the country are expected to participate, showcasing work that includes painting, photography, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, mixed media, and more.

Known for its walkable layout and neighborhood atmosphere, the Southport Art Fest has become a staple of Chicago’s summer festival season, drawing both local residents and visitors to the North Side shopping district.

Unlike some of the city’s larger street festivals, the Southport event is often recognized for its quieter, community-focused setting. Festivalgoers can browse artist booths while also visiting nearby boutiques, restaurants, cafés, and bars throughout the Southport Corridor.

Organizers say the event is designed to appeal to a wide audience, from serious art collectors to families looking for a weekend activity. In addition to artist exhibits, the festival will feature live entertainment, food vendors, and interactive activities for children.

The Southport Corridor has continued to grow in popularity in recent years as one of Chicago’s most active neighborhood retail districts, known for its mix of independent shops, national brands, restaurants, and historic residential streets.

Local businesses are also expected to benefit from increased foot traffic during the festival weekend, which typically brings large crowds to the area during peak summer season.

Festival hours are scheduled for 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Additional information, artist details, and event updates are available through Amdur Productions.
