The former Diag building has finally sold

Interra Realty, a firm specializing in commercial real estate investment services based in Chicago, has successfully facilitated the $3.45 million sale of a mixed-use property comprising nine units in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago.

Joe Smazal, the Senior Managing Partner at Interra, skillfully represented the local private seller throughout the transaction. At the time of the sale, all residential units were occupied, while the commercial space remained vacant.

The main building, situated at 2852-56 N. Southport Ave., is complemented by an adjoining coach house at 1411 W. George St. The Southport property comprises one one-bedroom unit, four two-bedroom units, and one three-bedroom unit. Meanwhile, the coach house features one one-bedroom and one two-bedroom unit. A ground-floor retail unit of approximately 4,600 square feet provides visibility along both Southport and George, featuring an outdoor dining area or beer garden.

Notably, 2852-56 N. Southport and 1411 W. George benefit from convenient access to various dining, shopping, and entertainment options along Ashland, Southport, and Lincoln. The property is well-connected, being served by the CTA’s Wellington Brown Line station and multiple CTA bus routes.

No word at this time what will be happening to the space.
