The Southport Corridor will once again transform into one of Chicago’s biggest neighborhood festivals as the 13th Annual Lakeview Taco Fest returns Friday, Aug. 21 through Sunday, Aug. 23, bringing dozens of taco vendors, two live music stages and family-friendly entertainment to Lakeview.
Hosted by the Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce, the festival stretches along Southport Avenue between Addison Street and Roscoe Street, where visitors can enjoy everything from authentic Mexican street tacos to creative fusion dishes while exploring one of Chicago’s premier shopping and dining districts.
Admission is free with a suggested donation benefiting the Chamber’s neighborhood programs.
More Than a Dozen Taco Vendors
This year’s festival features a mix of neighborhood favorites, authentic taquerias and creative newcomers.

Festival-goers can sample everything from traditional carnitas and street tacos to modern interpretations and international flavors while voting for their favorites throughout the weekend.

Live music will be featured throughout the festival on two stages located at Roscoe Street (South Stage) and Addison Street (North Stage).

A Summer Tradition on Southport
Now in its 13th year, Lakeview Taco Fest has become one of the neighborhood’s signature summer events, drawing thousands of visitors to the Southport Corridor each August. Beyond the tacos and entertainment, the festival highlights the area’s locally owned businesses, restaurants, boutiques and national retailers, giving attendees plenty of reasons to spend the entire day exploring the neighborhood.
Whether you’re searching for authentic Mexican street tacos, inventive fusion creations, live tribute bands, mariachi music or simply a summer afternoon in one of Chicago’s most vibrant neighborhoods, Lakeview Taco Fest offers something for every age.
The festival takes place along Southport Avenue between Addison and Roscoe, just steps from the CTA Brown Line Southport station.
