Claire’s store build-out has started at 3530 N. Southport Avenue

As we reported this past Fall, Claire’s is coming to 3530 N. Southport Avenue on the north side of the building, and construction has now started. Claire’s joins several other national retailers that have opened on Southport Avenue in the past several months, including Dr. Marten’s, Abercrombie & Fitch, Madewell and The Sill.

Claire’s has leased the former DavidsTEA space at 3530 N. Southport Avenue – North space

Two other national retail players are looking into the second space as of now (TBD on who they are but we should know shortly). As far as an opening date, we have seen build-out take 6+months but based on how fast Abercrombie & Fitch has built out their new space, it could be sometime in early to mid winter 2022.

Claire’s is now hiring and you can visit the job listings here.

What do you think of the newest national retail tenant coming to Southport Avenue?

  1. Abercrombie did this by being an absolute menace to its neighbors. For the past two months they have begun loud construction at 6am and continued well into the evening until 11pm and even 1am. This is after many filed noise ordinance complaints. They also cut the internet wires to the building and front door buzzer wires (on two separate occasions).
