Work resuming at 3347 N. Southport TOD & Retail Development

A permit has been issued for the construction of a five-story mixed-use building located at 3347 N. Southport Avenue. The building was torn down in 2020 and work had halted.

The project, developed by 3347 Southport LLC, will encompass 22,846 square feet and will consist of 27 units. The building will feature ground-floor retail space, a basement, and a four-vehicle garage with a rooftop deck. Additionally, there will be a bike room with 28 slots. This development will replace a previously demolished three-story mixed-use building.

LeVaughn Associates Architects is the designated architect for the project. While renderings have not been released, an elevation on the 44th Ward website depicts a masonry facade with stone accents on the first floor and brick on the upper floors.

Residents will enjoy convenient access to public transportation within a five-minute walk. Bus services for Route 152 (northbound), Route 77 (southbound), and Route 9 (westbound) can be found nearby. The Southport station, serving the Brown Line, is also located less than a block to the north.

The general contractor responsible for this project is Surf Development Corporation. The timeline for completion has not been disclosed.

More details can be found on the updated development on Ald. Tunney’s Website.
