Chicago’s City Council has approved plans for a new five-story residential building at 3233 N. Sheffield Avenue in Lakeview, clearing the way for construction to move forward. The project, led by North Park Ventures and SNS Realty Group, will replace a vacant former glass facility located between Belmont and School, just west of the CTA tracks.
Designed by 2rz Architecture and SGW Architecture & Design, the development will include 99 apartments, consisting of studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units. The building will also provide 25 parking spaces and 50 bike parking spots, along with resident amenities such as a fitness center, club room, and bike storage.

The ground floor will feature the main residential lobby and multiple apartment units along the street frontage, while upper floors will be fully residential. To comply with the city’s Affordable Requirements Ordinance, 15 of the apartments will be designated as affordable housing.
With zoning approval now secured, developers can proceed with permitting and begin preparations for construction of the new residential building in the Southport-Belmont corridor.
