9 Zip Codes in Chicago have hit 80%+ One Dose Vaccine Rate

Kudos to Lakeview’s 60613 zip code! This past week this zip code hit 80%+ of at least 1 dose of the Covid-19 vaccine ages 12 and up.

60657 is not far behind and should hit 80%+ soon. Currently as of August 20, 60657’s rate is 79.2% according to the City of Chicago’s Covid dashboard. This would mean Lakeview is one of the most vaccinated areas in the entire country.

Vaccines are available at your local Jewel-Osco, CVS, Walgreens and local health outposts, and most places do not require an appointment.

Wrigley Field’s New Mask Mandate

Starting Friday, August 20, Chicago will require masks at all indoor public areas. The Chicago Cubs have now issued how this will apply at Wrigley Field.

Anthony Rizzo ‘knocked out’ by COVID-19

Rizzo said he was “knocked out for a solid six, seven days” by the virus before being able to go for walks and stretch the previous few days.

Anthony Rizzo took another step closer to returning from the COVID-19 injured list Tuesday at Yankee Stadium. Rizzo took grounders on the field before the Yankees’ doubleheader against the Red Sox and took batting practice on the field between games.

Chicago to require indoor masks again

Starting Friday, anyone aged 2 and older will have to wear a face mask in indoor public spaces, regardless of vaccine status.

“With the highly transmissible Delta variant causing case rates to increase, now is the time to re-institute this measure to prevent further spread and save lives,” Chicago public health Commissioner Dr. Allison Arwady said in a statement. “We continue to track the data closely and are hopeful this will only be temporary and we can bend the COVID curve, as we’ve done in the past.”

Beermiscuous now requiring proof of vaccination for all indoor dining

Beermiscuous Lakeview, a Craft beer bar & bottle shop at 2812 N Lincoln Avenue is now requiring patrons to be fully vaccinated for indoor dining.

In a message on their social media accounts, the establishment wrote:

“We have unanimously decided as a staff to require proof of vaccination for all indoor dining, effective today. This decision was made for the sake of our guests’ safety as well as our own. We will check for vaccination status as we check IDs. Thanks for sticking with us, cheers.”

Beermiscuous joins a long list of public bars, venues and restaurants that are requiring proof of Covid-19 vaccination for service.
