Contemporary Concepts, in partnership with Wildwood Investments, an experienced Chicago-based multifamily investor (together, the “Sponsor”) is proposing to develop the property located at 3415-25 N. Ashland in the West Lakeview neighborhood. The project is currently zoned commercial; however, given the size and location of the lot, the Sponsor is proposing to rezone the project as multifamily and build a four-story, 53-unit masonry elevator building with a mix of studio, one and two-bedroom apartments. The property will include five affordable units.

Harold’s Chicken Shack coming to Irving and Southport

First reported today in Eater Chicago, signs are up at a new outpost of iconic Chicago chain Harold’s Chicken in a strip mall just west of Irving Park Road and Southport Avenue. The space, formerly a dry cleaners, is across the street from the Chicago City Soccer Club and blocks from Graceland Cemetery.

Approved: The Lakeview Connection

A new development has been approved at 3179 N. Clark Street called Lakeview Connection. This is currently the site of Fifth Third Bank’s drive through, and will include a smaller version of the branch, with several more retail spaces available.

Beermiscuous now requiring proof of vaccination for all indoor dining

Beermiscuous Lakeview, a Craft beer bar & bottle shop at 2812 N Lincoln Avenue is now requiring patrons to be fully vaccinated for indoor dining.

In a message on their social media accounts, the establishment wrote:

“We have unanimously decided as a staff to require proof of vaccination for all indoor dining, effective today. This decision was made for the sake of our guests’ safety as well as our own. We will check for vaccination status as we check IDs. Thanks for sticking with us, cheers.”

Beermiscuous joins a long list of public bars, venues and restaurants that are requiring proof of Covid-19 vaccination for service.

Maroon 5 at Wrigley Field 2021

The Maroon 5 show at Wrigley Field originally scheduled for June 13, 2020, has been rescheduled for Monday, August 30, 2021 and will feature special guest Blackbear. 

Maroon 5 ticket(s) purchased on Cubs.com are valid for the August 30, 2021 show at Wrigley Field.

Detailed information, including a refund option, was communicated directly to Maroon 5 ticket buyers who purchased tickets on Cubs.com.

The Hella Mega Tour at Wrigley Field is August 15, 2021

The Hella Mega Tour, which includes Green Day, Fallout Boys, and Weezer, will be coming to Wrigley Stadium on August 15th.

The Hella Mega Tour with Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer at Wrigley Field originally scheduled for Thursday, August 13, 2020, has been rescheduled for Sunday, August 15, 2021. 

Hella Mega Tour ticket(s) purchased on Cubs.com are valid for the August 15, 2021 show at Wrigley Field.

This will require street closures and other parking restrictions beginning on August 12nd through August 16th. For a full list of impacted streets, concert logistics, and public safety rules for the day of the concert.

Betting site next to Wrigley Field approved

The Gensler-designed addition could include new food and beverage options and an on-site DraftKings

The Commission on Chicago Landmarks unanimously voted Thursday to approve the Cubs‘ plans to build a two-story sportsbook adjacent to Wrigley Field.

A planned sportsbook outside Wrigley Field will be accessible to fans attending Cubs games or other walk-up bettors. Courtesy Gensler

The addition will take at least a year to build, sources told ESPN. It will be open to the public before, during and after games, and while fans will be able to enter Wrigley Field from inside the sportsbook, they won’t be required to be attending the game to make bets inside.

Market Days offering rapid Covid Testing, Vaccinations

Rapid COVID-19 testing will be available at festival gates, and people who are unvaccinated can get a Moderna shot at the fest.

From Block Club Chicago, people can get tested for and vaccinated against coronavirus this weekend at the Northalsted Market Days.

Market Days is partnering with Northshore Clinical Labs and Special Events Management to offer free coronavirus tests ahead of the festival and at its entrance gates, according to a statement. There also will be a vaccination booth inside the fest, which runs Friday-Sunday in Lakeview’s Northalsted neighborhood.

Watch: CTA Moves 1,000-Ton Historic Building 30 Feet

If you thought your last move was a hassle, CTA has got you beat: The agency just relocated an entire building.

For 127 years, the Vautravers Building stood at 947 W. Newport Ave. in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood. It now sits roughly 30 feet to the west and 10 feet to the south after a two-day herculean effort this week to slide the 1,000-ton structure out of the way of the CTA Red and Purple Line tracks.
