3647 N. Southport TOD Development Construction to begin in May, 2018

Spotless cleaners has closed (Free Mvmt Pop-Up Shop has taken over until April), and Sushi Mura will close in April, and construction will begin in May 2018 for this new mixed-use TOD development. The final renderings are listed here on Tom Tunney’s website, and the development has been approved. Curbed Chicago has a write-up of the benefits of Transit Oriented Developments (TODs) that you can read here.

Revised TOD Renderings for 3647 N. Southport Avenue

You may recall that a new Transit Oriented Development (TOD) has been proposed for 3647 N. Southport Avenue next to CVS. The original renderings have now been revised and listed here on Tom Tunney’s website. Currently, the development is “in discussion”.

Community Meeting April 24 to Review Southport Transit-Oriented Development Proposal

Another TOD has been proposed on Southport in the current location of both Spotless Cleaners and Sushi Mura next to CVS. There will be a meeting on Monday, April 24 at Mercury Theater at 7:00 PM to discuss this development according to the Southport Neighbors Association.

A second vote will be taken on the proposed TOD at 3647-49 Southport. The developers will be presenting a new design which includes a proposed 11′ setback on the fifth floor. SNA members in good standing for the past 90 days (photo ID required) are eligible to vote on this development per our bylaws.
