CONFIMRED: Mixed-Use Development coming to Lincoln/Ashland/Belmont According to Crain’s Chicago Business on Friday, August 22: “John Novak, president of Novak Construction Co., confirmed the Chicago-based company will buy the property at the northeast corner of Belmont and Ashland avenues in Lakeview from Minneapolis-based Target Corp. Novak plans to pursue a mixed-use development on the site, with as much as 60,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and 80 to 160 residences above. “It’s got great visibility,” Mr. Novak said of the site. “It\’s close to Whole Foods, and shopping in general. It\’s close to the el.” He declined to say how much his firm will pay for the property. A Target spokeswoman declined to comment.
