We reached out to the real estate brokers on the status of 3424 N. Southport Avenue, and they have confirmed that the buyers will be creating a new mixed-use development with retail, and either apartments or condos above. No word on timing as of yet, but we will keep everyone posted as we hear more.

A good, old fashioned bakery! Nothing super fancy, we already have Bittersweet (which is delicious, btw). Just a really good bread, rolls and unpretentious, affordable donuts that don't cost $27/dozen.

Great idea, we need a real bakery with good bread, someone who can do rustic bread and baguettes+ we need a real coffee shop, not a starbuck …
