3542 N. Southport TOD Development Officially Approved

Basics Salon is long gone and we chatted about this TOD proposal earlier in 2019, and now it has been approved by Ald. Tunney’s office for construction. The former building has been demolished so expect construction to start soon. What retail would you like to see here?

From the developer:
“The subject property is located at 3542 N. Southport. The subject lot measures 25 ft. by 120 ft., and is currently zoned B3-2. The owner, Jack Duncan of CA Ventures, is proposing to rezone the property to B3-3 in order to permit a four-story mixed-use building with a retail unit at grade and three (3) residential units above. The proposed mixed-use building will measure 47 ft.-3 inches in height. It will offer an accessible rooftop deck. The subject property is located within 1,320 feet of the CTA Southport Brown Line Station and qualifies as a Transit Oriented Development. As such, two (2) garage parking spaces will be located at the rear of the lot.\”
