We did our laundry at the northeast corner of Roscoe and Southport.
Hello Tony. I too grew up in the neighborhood. I lived on Roscoe just west of Southport. And my family also used the corner laundry to wash our clothes. However, I remember the laundry being on the “southeast” corner. The northeast corner as I remember was a small family grocery store. I walked there hundreds of times to return empty pop bottles and buy more RC. I also worked at Grobes Pharmacy when I was in high school. I simply stocked shelves and delivered prescriptions to Mr. Grobes (Frank?) customers. Mel was the other pharmacist. And the lady at the front counter was Louise (I think). Fond memories.
