Hutch is closing

After a successful decade in Lakeview, Hutch American Bistro is set to close its doors. The establishment, located at 3301 N. Clark St., first opened its doors in the summer of 2013, gaining recognition for its brunch offerings and bottomless drink specials. Hutch served as the inspiration for two sister restaurants in Chicago, but mirroring their fate, the original Hutch is now bidding farewell.

“It’s with great sadness to announce that January 1st, 2024 will be our last day of business. It was an extremely difficult decision to make.

The last 10 years have been a whirwind! The cubs winning the World Series, Blackhawks winning the Stanley cup, the world shut down, riots… what a ride!

So let’s go out with a bang!
For the rest of the week we will be featuring $5 beers and $10 cocktails.

Our final day with our annual New Year’s Day pajama brunch!”

The final day of operation for Hutch is scheduled for Monday, coinciding with its annual New Year’s Day Pajama Brunch. The closure announcement was made on Tuesday, with no public explanation provided for the decision.

In a farewell post on Instagram, Hutch expressed its intention to “go out with a bang,” offering $5 beers and $10 cocktails until the closure.

Hutch is under the ownership of Hutch American Concepts, which has recently closed several of its local establishments. Boca Loca Cantina, the taco spot in Andersonville, was shuttered in November, while a River North location remains operational. Additionally, both Savannah Supper Club and Savannah Luncheonette have been closed by the group.

Despite the popularity of Hutch, its spin-off locations in Andersonville and River North have also closed their doors.
