Renderings have been unveiled for a new mixed-use development at 2501 N. Clark. Announced in Alderman Timmy Knudsen’s newsletter to constituents, the proposed project is located at the intersection of N. Clark Street and W. St. James Place, currently occupied by a one-story retail building.
Although the developer and architect remain unnamed, the renderings shared by Alderman Knudsen depict a five-story building with a brick façade and punched window openings. The design includes ground-floor retail space, residential units, and an event space.
For the project to proceed, the site will require rezoning from B1-2 to B3-5 with a Type 1 designation. The proposal will need approval from Alderman Knudsen, the Committee on Zoning, and the City Council.
To gather community feedback, Alderman Knudsen and the Park West Neighborhood Association will host a public meeting on Tuesday, January 21, at 6 p.m. in the Harris Center at Francis W. Parker School.
