HYOU is coming to 3530 N. Southport Avenue

Another short-term retail concept is coming to the Southport Corridor.

HYOU is scheduled to open a pop-up store at 3530 N. Southport Avenue, a storefront currently operated as a flexible retail space by Leap.

What Leap Does

Leap is a retail platform that partners with brands to operate physical storefronts without requiring traditional long-term leases or in-house retail operations. Under its model, Leap typically leases the space, staffs and manages the store, and provides operational and technology support. Brands use the platform to test markets, run pop-ups, or maintain short-term or seasonal retail presences.

The storefront at 3530 N. Southport is positioned specifically for this type of rotating use, rather than for a single permanent tenant. This approach reflects a broader shift in retail toward flexible occupancy, particularly among digitally native and direct-to-consumer brands.

Recent Retail History on Southport

Leap currently controls two nearby storefronts on Southport Avenue:

  • 3530 N. Southport Ave, now slated for the HYOU pop-up (formerly Sweaty Betty)
  • 3539 N. Southport Ave, which is currently occupied by ThirdLove (slated to close this spring).

What HYOU Is

HYOU is a wellness-focused brand centered on functional beverage and supplement products. The company’s offerings are designed to support areas such as energy, focus, and recovery, and are typically positioned as alternatives to traditional energy drinks or supplements.

The Southport location will operate as a temporary pop-up store, not a permanent retail location. The space is expected to showcase HYOU’s product line and brand experience rather than function as a long-term storefront.

Ongoing Retail Changes on the Corridor

The continued use of Leap-managed pop-ups at 3530 N. Southport highlights the evolving retail landscape along the corridor, where long-term neighborhood retailers increasingly coexist with short-term concepts and brand experiments. Flexible retail arrangements allow storefronts to remain active while brands evaluate performance, visibility, and neighborhood fit.
