Nashville-based Hattie B’s Hot Chicken is set to debut its first Chicago restaurant at Gallagher Way next to Wrigley Field — and the brand is already planning two more city locations.
The popular hot chicken chain will begin serving guests at 3649 N. Clark St. Hattie B’s currently operates 16 other restaurants across Alabama, Georgia, Nevada, Tennessee, and Texas. Additional Chicago outposts are planned for River North and Wicker Park. This location is in the former FoxTrot space.

The River North location will open at 58 E. Ontario St., the former home of Vapiano, and will include seating for about 75 guests indoors. In Wicker Park, Hattie B’s will occupy part of the building at 1542 N. Damen Ave., a property that sold for nearly $16 million in 2025.
Both new locations are expected to open later this year or by early 2027, according to a company spokesperson.
“There’s not a better food and beverage city in the country — or really the world,” said co-founder Nick Bishop Jr., explaining the company’s decision to expand into Chicago per Crain’s Chicago.
Hattie B’s is best known for its signature hot chicken sandwiches, along with bone-in and tender plates coated in a spice blend featuring ghost, habanero, and cayenne peppers. The menu also includes classic Southern sides, beer, and frozen drinks.
The Wrigleyville restaurant spans roughly 3,300 square feet, with seating for 70 inside and 55 on an outdoor patio. Retractable walls and windows allow the space to shift between indoor and open-air dining.
