Chicago Cubs: An emotional day watching Kris Bryant’s return to Wrigley
Jess Bryant thanks Chicago

Jessica Bryant took to Instagram today to thank Chicago, and her and Kris’ time here in the city:
“Chicago, you were our beautiful home for almost 7 years! From being kids dating to marriage and a baby. Thank you for being a huge part of our lives”

Lakeview house where 3 Cubs pitchers lived is for sale
3 former players rented 5k sf property in succession

Baseball players are famously superstitious so perhaps this particular Lakeview home held magic mojo for Wade Davis, Brandon Morrow and Craig Kimbrel when they played for the Cubs. All three pitchers rented the home, in succession.
The listing can be found here.

On Friday, the Chicago Cubs announced that September 24 will be “Notre Dame Day at Wrigley.” That day is the Friday before the Notre Dame Fighting Irish take on the Wisconsin Badgers in a Shamrock Series game at Soldier Field. The first 2000 fans to buy a ticket for the Cubs game on the 24th against the St. Louis Cardinals will receive a special Notre Dame themed Cubs hat from New Era.

In a weird (and terrible) way, this reminds me of a 2017 Cubs game against the Atlanta Braves with all of the fans of the Georgia Bulldogs in attendance — who were ready to completely takeover Notre Dame Stadium the next day.
This particular Shamrock Series game is quite different than the usual one we get from Notre Dame. Wisconsin is actually the home team here, but the Badgers will wear special all white uniforms while the Irish will wear their “Chicago but actually Green Bay” uniforms that were unveiled a few weeks ago.

Kris Bryant not on revenge mission when he returns to Wrigley: ‘It’s double circled on my calendar’

Kris Bryant wishes he could play the Cubs sooner than Sept. 10-12 at Wrigley Field.
“It’s double circled on my calendar,” Bryant said last Friday while wearing bright orange shoes as part of his new San Francisco Giants attire. “I’m super excited about that and looking forward to that. It will be weird coming to bat from the other side and go to the visiting side.”
