“We’re always exploring options,” Marquee Sports General Manager Michael McCarthy told The Post. “There is nothing definite to announce.”

Claire’s has opened at 3530 N. Southport Avenue, former space of DavidsTEA. What do you think about the new addition to the Avenue?
“Claire’s is a global brand powerhouse for self-expression, creating exclusive, curated and fun fashionable jewelry and accessories, and offering world-leading piercing services. The company operates under two brand names: Claire’s and ICING.
We operate 2,300 Claire’s stores in 17 countries throughout North America and Europe and 190 ICING stores in North America. We also sell Claire’s products in thousands of concessions locations in North America and Europe, and we have more than 300 franchised Claire’s stores, located primarily in the Middle East and South Africa.”
“Will be open for baseball season. Whenever that is.”

Since 2017, the Lakeview Public Art Committee has worked to identify innovative artists and secure funding to support the display of public works of art in highly-visible locations. For every new mural we bring to the community, there are countless hours spent reaching out to property owners getting permission to install a mural on their building walls. Over 16 murals and exhibits have been installed to date, and now, we need your help. The Lakeview Public Art Committee is calling on all landlords, tenants, neighborhood groups and business owners to submit ideas for highly-visible walls to host new pieces of public art in 2022 and beyond. If you own a building or know someone who owns a building in Lakeview or Roscoe Village that would like to feature a new mural, please get in touch with Nicole McLellan at Nicole@lrvcc.org or call 773 472 7171 x102 to provide more details and discuss feasibility of a new piece of public art. |
