BREAKING: Metallica playing intimate Chicago show at Metro tonight

Metallica recently made their return to the stage after, according to them, 738 days, with a surprise, last minute, intimate show at the 500-capacity Independent in San Francisco. Tonight they’re doing another intimate show in another city, Chicago. The show is at the Metro, where they last played in 1983, and tickets are on sale only at the venue box office in person.

Trick or Treat Southport 2021 is Monday, October 25

It’s Back!

From the Lakeview / Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce, the tradition is back after skipping 2020 due to Covid-19.

“Trick or Treat on Southport is a free annual community event featuring family-friendly activities, a pumpkin patch, pet parade and trick or treating at local businesses. Enjoy food trucks and a beverage tent featuring beer from Corridor Brewery.

All children under 12 and those who are unvaccinated will be required to wear a mask at this event.”

The Lakeview Taco Fest returns this weekend featuring gourmet and classic tacos from more than a dozen local eateries.

The Taco Fest runs 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, taking over the Southport Corridor from Addison to Roscoe streets.

Former Chicago Cubs pitchers Craig Kimbrel, Brandon Morrow and Wade Davis and 1445 W Wolfram Street, Chicago (Google Maps, Wikipedia and Wade Davis)

Baseball players are famously superstitious so perhaps this particular Lakeview home held magic mojo for Wade Davis, Brandon Morrow and Craig Kimbrel when they played for the Cubs. All three pitchers rented the home, in succession.

The Lakeview zip codes, 60657 and 60613 are some of the most vaccinated in the country according to the CDC.

And from the Chicago Covid Tracking database, 60657 has 79.8% “at least one dose 12+” and 60613 has 81.5% “at least one dose 12+” vaccinated against Covid-19.
