Pescadero Seafood & Oyster Bar coming to former Fahlstrom’s Fish location

Pescadero Seafood & Oyster Bar, a long-standing Wilmette restaurant will be opening a new location at 1258 W. Belmont Avenue, former location of Fahlstrom’s. A sign recently appeared in the window along with a social media post on Facebook, but no ETA is known at this time. You can take a look at their Wilmette menu here.

UPDATE: Cancelled Due To Covid-19 – Upscale Bakery Susie Cakes coming to 3542 N Southport Avenue

UDPATE: Due to Covid-19, SusieCakes has cancelled their lease.

Basics Salon closed in 2019 and a new development is currently under construction. Recently a Lease Brochure appeared for DavidsTEA\’s former space and indicates that SusieCakes Bakery will be the retail tenant. Most locations are currently in California and Texas, SusieCakes’ founder, Susan Sarich, grew up in Chicago, where she was called Susie by her two beloved grandmothers, Mildred and Madeline.

Grassroots Eatery is now closed

New Year’s Eve 2019 was Grassroots Grill’s last night at 3747 N. Southport Avenue. The restaurant’s management sent out an email on Sunday stating that New Year’s Eve’s will be the spot’s last service. Grassroots opened with a farm-to-table focus in 2015. The restaurant has been for sale since the summer.
