Bel-Port Liquors closing mid-July, not coming back to Bow Truss side location

As you have heard, Bow Truss Coffee is coming to Southport and Belmont in the space currently occupied by Bel-Port Liquors. Joe, long-time owner of Bel-Port was rumored to move to an adjacent space but according to him, rent is too high and he will not be relocating. Make sure to say hi to Joe and Sashi before he closes up shop for good, most likely by early to mid-July.

We hear ya! #Repost @maryflan711

Registration is now open for summer classes with Third Space at LVPC, a program of Lake View Presbyterian Church

Registration is now open for summer classes with Third Space at LVPC, a program of Lake View Presbyterian Church. Six-week sessions for preschoolers through senior citizens will begin July 18, with veteran instructors leading creative courses in music, art, movement and discussion.
“These pilot programs are a sample of the kinds of offerings that may be available in the Third Space building in a couple of years,” said Pastor Joy Douglas Strome. “As we continue our capital campaign, we are also looking at what activities will help us realize our vision of Third Space as an intergenerational community building that builds community.”
Classes in music, art and wooden toy-making will allow parents and children to work together. Other, age-level, art classes will be designed for those age 6 through adult, and seniors may opt for yoga, exercise, book discussion and storytelling classes.
Classes are very affordably priced to accommodate everyone in the Lakeview community, and will end August 26.
Plans are for a Third Space Community Center slated to replace the existing Parish Hall immediately west of Lake View Presbyterian Church at Broadway and Addison.  Third Space will be the only intentional, inter-generational gathering space in the Lakeview neighborhood. It won’t regulate different populations, it will integrate them.

A full class listing, including dates and times, is available at third-space.org. To register, visit the website or phone 773-281-2655.
