Surveillance video shows traffic stop before fatal shooting of CPD Officer Ella French; 2 charged
Two people have been charged in the fatal shooting of 29-year-old Officer Ella French who was killed during a traffic stop in West Englewood Saturday night. Her partner remains in the hospital after being shot.

A new development has been approved at 3179 N. Clark Street called Lakeview Connection. This is currently the site of Fifth Third Bank’s drive through, and will include a smaller version of the branch, with several more retail spaces available.
A grocery store tenant has taken the second floor, and the rumor is that it will be Amazon Fresh.

In a message on their social media accounts, the establishment wrote:
“We have unanimously decided as a staff to require proof of vaccination for all indoor dining, effective today. This decision was made for the sake of our guests’ safety as well as our own. We will check for vaccination status as we check IDs. Thanks for sticking with us, cheers.”

Beermiscuous joins a long list of public bars, venues and restaurants that are requiring proof of Covid-19 vaccination for service.
As we announced back in July, Framebridge is coming to Southport Avenue and is now hiring.

Just over a week ago, we watched three of the most beloved players in Chicago Cubs history packed up and shipped off at the MLB trade deadline – including former National League MVP Kris Bryant, who went to the San Francisco Giants in return for a pair of prospects.

The Hella Mega Tour with Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer at Wrigley Field originally scheduled for Thursday, August 13, 2020, has been rescheduled for Sunday, August 15, 2021.
Hella Mega Tour ticket(s) purchased on Cubs.com are valid for the August 15, 2021 show at Wrigley Field.
This will require street closures and other parking restrictions beginning on August 12nd through August 16th. For a full list of impacted streets, concert logistics, and public safety rules for the day of the concert.

Schoolyard Tavern closed October 4, 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but recently has been sending several cryptic tweets that gives us hope it will not be suffering the same fate as Southport Lanes.
The bar is currently gutted on the inside and the bar is completely removed as of August, 2021.

Optima Lakeview, a seven-story retail and apartment development is located at 3460 N Broadway
From Chicago Yimby: “Facade installation is now in its final stretch for Optima Lakeview, a seven-story retail and apartment development by Optima Inc. Located at Lakeview East‘s 3460 N Broadway, the new development will yield a total of 14,000 square feet of retail and 198 apartments, ranging from one-bedrooms through three-bedrooms.
The Gensler-designed addition could include new food and beverage options and an on-site DraftKings
The Commission on Chicago Landmarks unanimously voted Thursday to approve the Cubs‘ plans to build a two-story sportsbook adjacent to Wrigley Field.
The addition will take at least a year to build, sources told ESPN. It will be open to the public before, during and after games, and while fans will be able to enter Wrigley Field from inside the sportsbook, they won’t be required to be attending the game to make bets inside.
