Giant development proposed at 925 W. Belmont

A rendering has surfaced showcasing a proposed mixed-use development at 925 W. Belmont. While the identity of the developer remains undisclosed, the project’s location lies just east of the Belmont CTA L station, set to replace the current building housing Belmont Army Vintage and other small businesses.

Crafted by Eckenhoff Saunders, the concept entails an 11-story mixed-use structure. The envisioned building features 210 residential units, 36 parking spaces, and around 10,000 square feet designated for retail.

As described on Alderman Lawson’s website, the development strives to blend seamlessly into its surroundings, embracing the principles of transit-oriented architecture while respecting the street’s existing character. It aims to breathe new life into the community by offering diverse housing choices and dynamic commercial prospects, thus stimulating economic growth and supporting local enterprises.

Positioned within Lakeview’s core, this project embodies a commitment to urban density while preserving the neighborhood’s identity. It promises to elevate the area’s livability through expanded housing options and enhanced commercial activity, ultimately contributing to its enduring appeal and sustainability.
