J. Crew Southport tentatively scheduled to open in late January, 2016

We’ve reached out to J. Crew about an opening date and they have let us know they are tentatively scheduled to open in late January of 2016.  SoulCycle is also scheduled to open in late January as well.

Dojo Chicago Closed

First Burger Boss, now Dojo Chicago – why can\’t businesses stay open at the corner of Belmont and Southport?  Dojo Chicago has quietly existed Southport this past week.  The windows are papered up and everything appears to be removed. What type of business can remain in this location?

Teavana\'s Southport Tea Bar Abruptly Closes

Looks like not all chains make it on the Southport Corridor. After a grand opening celebration in 2014 including Oprah\’s Executive producer, Teavana Tea Bar on Southport closed its doors for good on Sunday. When we asked why they were closing, the folks in charge of removing all property said they had no clue. The Tea Bar concept was new for the company and only included 6 full tea bars in the country (including Southport). Did you frequent there often?

Crosby’s Kitchen’s Parent Company to lease out Justin’s Bar & Grill

We have known that Justin’s has been for sale for quite some time. Newcastle Limited, a real-estate firm has purchased the building, and 4 Star Restaurant Group, parent company of Crosby’s Kitchen will be eventually taking over.  No word on when Justin\’s will be vacating, but they are currently leasing back the space, much like Mystic Celt did with L3 Capital.
