The event will feature an eclectic mix of fine art by day and rockin’ music at night, setting the tone for a picture-perfect Chicago neighborhood street festival.
More than 30,000 festival fans will visit the beautiful tree-lined streets of the eccentric neighborhood. Just steps away from the friendly confines of Wrigley Field, the two-day festival will showcase some of the city’s best and most diverse artists. Summer on Southport will put various art forms including oil, acrylic, watercolor, jewelry, sculpture, photography, wood, fiber, glass, paper, metal, and mixed media at center stage all weekend long.
Families will get the opportunity to bring their children and enjoy all that Summer on Southport has to offer. A special children’s area will be designated and filled with interactive games and activities that will make for a memorable time. By night, Summer on Southport will add a special stage for music where some of the Windy City’s favorite bands will take over and play everyone’s favorite songs from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and today.
Summer on Southport benefits the Southport Neighbors Association. Since 1988, Southport Neighbors Association (SNA) has been representing the residents and businesses of the unique and vibrant neighborhood, in the heart of Lakeview. Admission is a $5 suggested donation.
Summer on Southport is produced and managed by StarEvents in partner with Amdur Productions. For Thirty years, Amdur productions, a nationally acclaimed arts festival production company, has organized and directed many of the country’s most prestigious juried art festivals.
