Community Meeting April 24 to Review Southport Transit-Oriented Development Proposal

Another TOD has been proposed on Southport in the current location of both Spotless Cleaners and Sushi Mura next to CVS. There will be a meeting on Monday, April 24 at Mercury Theater at 7:00 PM to discuss this development according to the Southport Neighbors Association.

A second vote will be taken on the proposed TOD at 3647-49 Southport. The developers will be presenting a new design which includes a proposed 11′ setback on the fifth floor. SNA members in good standing for the past 90 days (photo ID required) are eligible to vote on this development per our bylaws.

Kendra Scott Southport Corridor Chicago opens April 28, 2017

Ready for Kendra Scott to join The ‘Port?  The store will be opening on Friday, April 28 and will be hosting a soft opening party of Saturday, April 29. Southport Corridor Changes into 2018

Whether you are new to the area or a long-time resident, one thing is for certain: nothing is permanent except change. So if you can’t keep up with all of the changes happening to Chicago’s Southport Corridor, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
Here is a summary of what to expect into 2018:
  1. Ivivva by Lululemon is closing. Space currently for lease
  2. The former Blue Bayou space is for lease
  3. Tied House is coming to the former Harmony Grill location
  4. Paperchase is coming to Southport Avenue
  5. Bonobos is now open at 3434 N. Southport Avenue
  6. Hanna Andersson is coming to 3452 N. Southport
  7. Kendra Scott is now open at 3426 N. Southport
  8. Leahy and Ladue is closed, 312 Estates Real Estate Office is coming
  9. Rise Sushi and Galleria Liquors will be replaced by this Transit Oriented Development (TOD), Chase Bank and Chipotle could be possible tenants
  10. Capital One Cafe with Peet\’s Coffee will open in the fall 2017 at 3435 N. Southport
  11. Venus Restaurant is coming from The Mercury Theater in Cullen\’s former space
  12. Mint Julep is now closed, national retail coming in
  13. A new mixed-use TOD development is coming to 3334 N. Southport Avenue
  14. Frio Gelato is now open at 3721 N. Southport
  15. B. Rose Salon at 3341 N. Southport has closed and construction has started for a new nail and hair salon
  16. Basics Salon at 3542 N. Southport is currently for lease or for redevelopment in 2019-2020
  17. Target is moving into the former Whole Foods space on Ashland in October
  18. Large-scale mixed-use development coming to 1356 W. Wellington Avenue with an American Mattress store
  19. Addison & Clark development is underway; Shake Shack, Cinemex Movie Theater and Lucky Strike will be anchor tenants
  20. Harley Davidson coming to Addison & Clark development
  21. Hotel Zachery with Big Star Chicago, McDonald\’s and several other restaurants coming to Wrigleyville
  22. Starbucks Reserve is now open at The Park at Wrigley Field
  23. Cafe Tola is expanding into the Sweet Sensations former space
  24. Amazon Books is now open
  25. Stumptown Coffee Roasters Cafe is now open inside Amazon Books
  26. Bow Truss Coffee Roasters was coming to Southport & Belmont (But who knows what will happen now)
  27. Ella Elli is now open from 4-Star Restaurant Group
  28. F.I.S.H. Poke Bar, Milk Money, Blue Crown Wings, Mac Royale and Melt 35 delivery/pickup only kitchen has opened at 3208-10 N. Southport
  29. LuluBelles Pancake House building was demolished and new retail/residences have been built and are for rent
  30. FlatTop Grill former space is for lease
  31. Real Good Juice Co. has opened at 3548 N. Southport
  32. LensCrafters has opened at 3428 N. Southport
  33. Elevare MD has opened next to Fleet Feet
  34. Tango Sur has expanded into Vivial\’s former location as as a Tapas Wine Bar and shop called Bodega Sur
  35. Whole Foods is now open at Lincoln, Ashland and Belmont
  36. 1342 W. Belmont mixed-use is under construction
  37. 3451-53 N. Southport actively being marketed for lease
