Ready for Gelato on Southport?

Evanston-based artisanal gelato producer FRÍO Gelato® is excited to serve Argentine-style gelato to local consumers—now, from its new location at 3721 N. Southport Avenue in Lakeview’s Southport Corridor. The store will open to the public on April 14, 2017 with its regular business hours (noon-11 pm) and will be celebrated by the Lakeview Chamber of Commerce with a ribbon cutting at 4:00 pm.
Co-founder Sebastián Koziura says:

It’s exciting to move to such a vibrant community like Southport Corridor. We feel fortunate to have as our neighbors so many other passionate small business owners as well as a Chicago landmark – The Music Box Theatre. We’re optimistic the residents of Lakeview will welcome us because they are uniquely conscious about food quality—they are gastronomic risk-takers, they value locally-produced products and they care about what they put in their bodies. FRÍO Gelato shares these values by offering Argentine, artisanal and allergen-friendly gelato.

The 3700 block of Southport now provides all the staples of Argentine cuisine—beef asado, empanadas, and gelato. Located between Tango Sur and 5411 Empanadas, FRÍO Gelato helps make this “Argentine Alley”—the ultimate destination for an Argentine culinary experience!

High quality premium chocolate, spices, whole vanilla beans, egg yolk, whole coffee beans, imported wines and fruit pureé are all used to give each flavor its own characteristic that can be eaten in a traditional “cucurucho swirl”—a delicious peak of creamy gelato on our homemade waffle cone, in an “alfajor”—a gelato sandwich made from typical Argentine cookies, or served on our made-to-order crepes.
