Country music singer Morgan Wallen has announced that he will be canceling six weeks of performances after receiving bad news from his doctors. The news has left fans in Chicago wondering if his scheduled shows at Wrigley Field will be affected. Wallen had recently returned to the stage in Florida after canceling a show in Mississippi due to losing his voice. After performing three shows in Florida, he felt terrible and was informed that he had reinjured his vocal cords, which led to vocal fold trauma. His doctors have advised him to go on vocal rest for six weeks, and he plans to reschedule some shows during that time. However, he won’t be able to make some festivals during this timeframe.
Wallen assures fans that he will be back better than ever and is confident he will get back to 100%. His Chicago shows are currently still listed on MLB’s website and Live Nation’s, although a spokesperson for Live Nation has stated that the June 22 show is not on the list at this time. Despite being one of country music’s biggest stars, Wallen has been embroiled in controversy in the past, including a racial slur incident in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2021 and a public intoxication and disorderly conduct arrest in 2020.
