During the summer season at the Friendly Confines, baseball typically takes center stage, but this year, another sport will have its moment in the spotlight.
Upper Deck Golf has organized a special event at Wrigley Field, allowing fans to experience golf from July 6-9 within the iconic baseball park.
According to the company’s website, fans will have the unique opportunity to tee off from the upper deck and aim for greens set up on the field. The rounds will commence and conclude at a clubhouse festival held within the ballpark.

Currently, Upper Deck Golf is accepting sign-ups for both standard and VIP tee time waitlists, granting enthusiasts the chance to play this remarkable sport at Wrigley Field.
This event is part of a larger series taking place at ten stadiums throughout 2023. Aside from Wrigley Field, fans can enjoy playing golf at nine other venues:
- Levi’s Stadium – Santa Clara
- Lumen Field – Seattle
- Comerica Park – Detroit
- Citizen’s Bank Park – Philadelphia
- Coors Field – Denver
- PNC Park – Pittsburgh
- Busch Stadium – St. Louis
- Cleveland Browns Stadium – Cleveland
- Target Field – Minneapolis
While Chicago has previously hosted similar events, such as one at Soldier Field in April 2019, golf hasn’t had a significant presence at the Friendly Confines, except for a few promotional occasions. Back in September 2011, Cubs legend Ernie Banks joined golfer Dustin Johnson at Wrigley Field before the BMW Championship at Cog Hill.
One of the most memorable moments occurred on April 17, 1951, when Sam Snead famously teed off from home plate, hitting a ball over the center field scoreboard just before the Cubs’ home opener against the Reds.
