Latest Southport Rumor Mill: L3 Capital to apparently buy the Mystic Celt building

We have heard that L3 Capital is apparently in the process of buying the Mystic Celt building, and it could be happening soon. L3 has made an offer that apparently \”is too good to pass up\”.  A few things could happen from this:

  • The transaction happens and Mystic Celt remains for a certain amount of time.
  • The transaction happens and Mystic Celt will be redeveloped very soon for new retailers/restaurants (much like the Lou & Grey and Corridor Brewery building).
  • The deal falls through (we hear this is highly unlikely).

Time will tell, and we will report more as we hear about it.

Confirmed: SoulCycle opening on Southport above J. Crew

As we reported a few weeks ago, SoulCycle will be opening above J. Crew on Southport at 3423 N. Southport. Confirmed by Crain’s Chicago Business:

“SoulCycle said it signed a lease to open a 4,000-square-foot spinning studio on Southport Avenue by early 2016. The New York-based company will open its third Chicago studio at 3423 N. Southport Ave., above a J. Crew clothing store in a two-story building being developed by Chicago-based L3 Capital.”

Look for SoulCycle Southport to open in the first quarter of 2016. What are your thoughts, neighbors?
