Capital One Cafe construction started, slated to open in Fall, 2017

As you recall, Capital One Cafe with Peet’s Coffee is coming to 3435 N. Southport Avenue.  Capital One has worked with both Tom Tunney and The Lakeview Chamber of Commerce on their initial concerns, and is looking to now open in Fall, 2017.

Design plans are still in early progress per Capital One. The Cafe will be approximately 7,500 sq. feet, will offer 3 nooks and 2 meeting rooms for customers, neighborhood and community members/partners to utilize should they need a work or meeting space. The Southport Café is slated to open in Fall 2017.

Amazon Books opens in San Diego; Southport’s store to look similar

Amazon Books just opened their second brick and mortar store in San Diego and here are a few photos of the store. Expect a similar look to our outpost which will be located at 3443 N. Southport Avenue, former home to Mystic Celt.

Proposed Transit Oriented Development (TOD) at 3647-49 Southport Avenue

Another TOD has been proposed on Southport in the current location of both Spotless Cleaners and Sushi Mura next to CVS. There will be a meeting on Monday, October 17 at Mercury Theater at 7:00 PM to discuss this development according to the Southport Neighbors Association.

From Southport Neighbors:

“Proposed Transit Oriented Development (TOD) at 3647-49 Southport: Learn about this proposed development, tentatively planned for 5 stories, 21 mostly 1 bedroom units, with 5 parking spots, 1 car share spot, and 42 bike parking spots.
This development is still in the planning stages, so it is extremely important that you attend Monday\’s meeting to learn all the details and to provide your input.”
