Houndstooth Saloon, located at 3369 N Clark Street has announced their closure via social media. On Instagram and Facebook:
“With heavy hearts and many beloved memories, we would like to share with all of you, our loyal patrons, Houndstooth Salooon will be permanently closing on Sunday May 14th, 2023.
We have been so fortunate to be a part of your kind, gracious, supportive community. We watched our community come together during many trying times. We are enormously grateful for the years of support you gave to our small business. Whether you joined us for a special event or an exciting game day, we hope you enjoyed our services as much as we enjoyed serving you.
Please stop by Sunday to help us celebrate the past, the present and the future.
Sincerely,
Your Houndstooth Family”
This country bar, which first opened its doors in 2006, took its name from the distinctive houndstooth fedora worn by Paul William “Bear” Bryant, the legendary University of Alabama football coach.
Due to ongoing CTA construction nearby, the bar experienced a decline in visibility and profitability. In response, the establishment resorted to hosting pop-ups and various events in an effort to attract customers.
The local community is invited to join in on Sunday to commemorate the bar’s rich history. The bar’s regular operating hours are as follows: 12 p.m. to midnight on Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to midnight on Sunday.
