Sushi Mura is now officially closed, and construction will begin shortly for a new mixed-use TOD development (rendering below). Look for Sushi Mura to make a comeback in 2019 per their Facebook page.

Approved by Ald. Tom Tunney: 3200 N. Southport TOD Development

It\’s official – a new TOD development at 3200 N. Southport Avenue had been approved by Ald. Tom Tunney. This Transit Oriented Development will be replacing the former Flat-Top Grill location at the corner of Southport and Belmont. In addition to this development, these Southport TODs have already been approved:

Monday evening, March 12, 2018, a new TOD development at 3200 N. Southport Avenue was approved by West Lakeview Neighbors and now is with Ald. Tom Tunney. In addition to this development, these Southport TODs have already been approved:

Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Proposed for 3200 N. Southport Avenue

From West Lakeview Neighbors, next Monday there is a meeting at Butcher\’s Tap to discuss a new TOD development at 3200 N. Southport Avenue, former home to Flat Top Grill.  This corner has been vacant for quite some time, and many businesses have come and gone through the years (Burger Boss, Knitter’s Niche, Flat Top to name a few). In addition to this newly proposed TOD, these Southport TODs have already been approved:

Rise to Fall, along with Galleria Liqueurs for this mixed-use TOD at 3401 N. Southport Avenue

Updated: We hear this project will now begin in the second half of 2020.

ICYMI, Rise Sushi and Galleria Liqueurs will be replaced with construction starting sometime in 2018 with this mixed-use Transit Oriented Development (TOD). Rise Sushi currently has a lease until the end of 2017 (but this development was first proposed in 2014 and approved by Tom Tunney). There are two other TOD developments currently coming to Southport.  3647 N. Whether you are new to the area or a long-time resident, one thing is for certain: nothing is permanent except change. So if you can’t keep up with all of the changes happening to Chicago’s Southport Corridor, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

  6. Taco Bell and an auto body shop on Addison by Wrigley Field will be replaced by new developments
  7. 1035 W. Addison to be redeveloped
  8. The former Blue Bayou space is for lease
  9. Tied House is coming to the former Harmony Grill location
  10. Paperchase is coming to Southport Avenue
  11. Leahy and Ladue is closed, 312 Real Estate Office is now open
  12. Venus Restaurant is coming from The Mercury Theater in Cullen\s former space

You may recall that a new Transit Oriented Development (TOD) has been proposed for 3647 N. Southport Avenue next to CVS. The final renderings are listed here on Tom Tunney’s website, and the development has been approved. Spotless Cleaners has closed, TBD on when Sushi Mura will exit. Expect construction to begin in 2018.

3401-09 N. Southport Avenue TOD Development will start in 2018

As you may recall, this transit oriented development approved in 2015 will be starting construction in 2018. Planning had started back in 2014, and this new development will reside on what is now Galleria Liquors and Rise Sushi. Galleria Liquors is slated to return to this site, while Rise Sushi is not.
